Cancer is a major problem affecting all health systems around the world. We’ve seen incredible advances in cancer care in the last 30 years, from diagnostics such as national screening programs, through to treatment with tailor-made chemotherapeutic techniques. Despite this cancer claims around 450 lives every day in the UK.
There has been much preclinical work examining the therapeutic use of cannabinoids in cancer care, with some clinical studies, and, rightly or wrongly, much hype.
In the month of February, The Cannabinoid Journal looks at the use of cannabinoids in cancer care, what we do and do not know, and where promise may lie. First we hear from patient, Gary Sutherland, as he discusses his journey with cancer treatments alongside medicinal cannabis.
