The vote could have far-reaching implications for the global medical cannabis industry, ranging from regulatory oversight to scientific research into the plant and its use as a medicine.
It's a clear indication from the UN on the efficacy of cannabis as a medicinal plant/product. Hopeful for further legislative changes off the back of this vote!
Strong lobbying is now required to get the UK Government to relax controls when taking into account both this vote at the UN and the recent ruling of the CJEU in the Kanavape case.
This UN decision will open the market to more business which is always a good thing. More participants in the market will lead to better quality and lower prices. It will improve access to cannabis products too.
All Governments have a legal 'opt out' clause and I suspect some will follow this route. Others may be more proactive. Though doubt the UK Govt will be. Repression seems their way.

Finally a rational and intelligent decision in 2020 - great to see vital step progressing. The fight is not over but this is a potentially huge step
