Yes I approached my GP who said no problem and if I needed any help just to ask then when I asked he was different I suspect that some colleagues may have had a word he was a bit reluctant to help me apply to a new clinic but did in the end and is now very supportive. There in a hard place GPS I think they are outnumbered by the GPS who will never give this plant its medical property's any chance just through ignorance , because if they listen to the evidence they know they all look a bit silly now for falling for all the lies about mefical cannabis and this says more about them than it does about this plant so they will just dig themselves in deeper holes than they are already in . Some doctors confuse being educated to being intelligent this proves it .Thanks

We're so pleased to hear that you met with a GP who was open to listening to the advantages of medical cannabis, and supported your decision Gary.

Thanks yes I'm lucky by the sounds of some patients experiences medical cannabis moving forward will happen, It's been decided like it or not, doctors need to listen to there patient. This power dynamic changing is silly its in there heads I have experienced this first hand and stigma so it will be a long journey but it can only happen if Doctors Listen and get on board before they make a rash judgement on patients that who only seek an alternative to opioid treatments . Thanks CMC and the Author of the Store

I was incredibly lucky to speak to a young female doctor when I asked to have my records released to my chosen cannabis clinic but I know if I'd spoken to a potentially older doctor this wouldn't have been so easy. She was incredibly supportive about the fact I'd exhausted most options for the pain management of my endometriosis as well as the fact that I didn't want to try my invasive treatments such as an epidural or nerve blockers. It makes me so angry that there's still such stigma in the medical community about cannabis, especially when it's so easy to be prescribed opiates instead!

So an additional issue with GP's understanding medical cannabis may also be age groups - the younger generation of GP's are more open minded to alternative medicines? What clinic did you manage to get your treatment through and was the experience easy for you?

I definitely thing it contributes to the problem and yes I do believe that younger GP's are more open minded, the one I dealt certainly was. I am currently with The Sapphire Clinic and it was definitely an easy, straight forward process.

My first enquiry led to me being thrown out. 'It will kill you', being their comment. Then next time told ,'there is no such thing as medical cannabis,' I went it alone after that.

Hi Philip - we're sorry you've had that experience! When you say you 'went it alone' what do you mean by that? Private prescriptions, street cannabis, grow your own?

I grew my own and consequently was arrested twice within a three month period. I have found during the two years GYO how it benefitted me. I was able to do things my Doctor said couldn't be done. I have stage three kidney failure. Ive reversed it a bit, and have thrown away 70% of my pharmaceutical medicines, mainly for BP and Hiatus hernia. Having been arrested twice I got a prescription and though somewhat inferior to GYO it does the job and maintains my condition. I am 81 years old, no pain and an excellent quality of life. I haven't seen a doctor for 18 months now. However it costs £300 a month and I have friends who cannot afford this so are Economically discriminated against. I am among the top 20 UK activists too.
